Meet Ruth Maude
Ruth Maude (she/her) is an encaustic artist, blogger, web designer, and instructor from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She is the founder of All Things Encaustic, a blog that serves as a resource for the encaustic art community. All Things Encaustic provides insights, techniques, and practical advice for artists working with this unique medium. Ruth also specializes in building WordPress websites for artists. She helps artists establish an online presence to showcase their work.
Ruth first learned encaustic painting from Andrea Bird and has continued to explore the possibilities of encaustic materials.
Ruth’s art is in the permanent collection of The Museum of Encaustic Art (MoEA) in New Mexico. Her work is also in private collections across Canada and the United States.
In addition to her artistic practice, Ruth plays an active role in the Toronto art community. She is an engaged Board Member and Chair of Marketing and Communications at Propeller Art Gallery, where she supports fellow artists and contributes to the gallery’s mission of fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment for art lovers.
Ruth is also a key organizer of the Canadian Encaustic Conference, an event designed to bring together encaustic artists from across Canada and beyond to share knowledge, collaborate, and inspire one another.
